The planning functionality intrinsic of ERP is not ideal for small and medium size enterprises that operate in highly unpredictable economic environments. This paper proposes a new focus for ERP that is instead centered on dynamic management of resources based on a database structure that is equivalent to the traditional one but more attuned to today’s advanced computerized technologies.
